Jordan Binion Project - Mental Health Education for High School Students

WELCOME!  Thank you for visiting our site.

Mental illness is second only to heart disease as the leading cause of disability in this country yet there is a deafening silence about it in our schools. Serious mental illnesses often begin developing between the ages of 15 and 24, yet most high school students graduate from high school without ever having had one lesson in mental health.   As a result,  young people are often ill equipped to recognize the symptoms of mental illness.  Early diagnosis and treatment is currently thought to be one of the most important factors for a positive prognosis and recovery.  That is why mental health education is so important.

Our message is a message of hope!

You are valuable, you have worth and you have a purpose on this earth!
The Jordan Binion Project believes in the importance of mental health education.  Our mission is to provide mental health education to high school students about the early warning signs of developing a mental illness.  We hope that through education we can eventually remove the stigma that is associated with mental illness in our society and provide hope for a positive future for those youth impacted by mental illness.
